Rethinking what and how to build

Welcome!

We’re a small development firm out of Denver and Boulder.

We focus on how we want to and should live together in the future.

This includes lowering our carbon footprint and providing mobility-ready housing for individuals with a desire to delay or avoid moving into a retirement home.

We walk the walk

We’re currently developing a site in North Denver where 11 zero emission townhomes are being built. They are powered by solar panels, and use the latest heat pump technology for heating & cooling. The original gas line going into the property has been removed.

Lowering our carbon footprint

Innovative energy concepts

Our buildings are a huge contributor to our carbon emissions. In Denver, 70% of CO2 emissions are related to heating, cooling and powering our buildings. Many other cities have similar statistics. We’re currently racing towards options to lower our carbon footprint.

How we build homes basically hasn’t changed much over the last decades. We’ve mostly been using central heating & cooling systems powered by gas furnaces and condensers. We stuck big ductwork in our homes to move the heated or cooled air through our homes. We accepted the fact that some parts of our homes are being heated or cooled when it wasn’t really needed and that the temperature throughout our homes was never fully even. We had to air out our homes to avoid the air to become too stale.
Having a gas burner in or house limited our air quality and also posed a small but also permanent fire risk.

How about a system that doesn’t use any fossil fuel and has no burners at all?
How about a system that permanently brings in fresh air and takes out stale air?
How about a system that monitors CO2 and VOC and removes it based on thresholds you can determine?
How about a system with multiple heating and cooling zones where you can fine-tune the temperatures throughout your home?
How about a home that heats or cools in minutes?
How about all of this all being powered by the sun?
How about avoiding bills for power, heating and cooling (other than your grid connection fee)?
How about your actual home being more spacious due to avoiding big ductwork taking up wall and ceiling space?
